These were the scenes at Berrow on Thursday evening (April 17th) after Burnham-On-Sea fire-fighters tackled a big blaze in the reeds besides the beach.
A large area of land was left damaged, as pictured here, after the fire broke out at around 4.30pm south west of Berrow Church.
One fire engine from Burnham-On-Sea attended the scene.
“The crew used two hose reels, a water pump and beaters to extinguish it,” fire spokeswoman Janet Booth told Burnham-On-Sea.com.
Several hundred metres of the reed beds were scorched in the blaze, bringing back memories of a huge fire at the same location in 2004.
