Fire crew called to hedge blaze next to Burnham’s Tesco store

Burnham-On-Sea firefighters were called to a put out a hedge blaze next to a town supermarket on Monday (May 24th).

One fire crew was sent to Ben Travers Way at lunchtime after a walker spotted a hedge on open land next to Burnham’s Tesco store was alight.

Fire spokesman Paul Slavin told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “One crew from Burnham was sent to investigate at 1.10pm and found there a fire in a hedgerow.”

Firefighters damped it down with buckets of water to prevent the blaze spreading, as pictured here.

Meanwhile, one fire crew was also sent to New Road in East Huntspill on Sunday evening at 10.15pm after a large bonfire caused a false alarm.
