A fire alert at Burnham-On-Sea’s newly-opened Morrisons supermarket on Thursday (July 9th) turned out to be a lot of hot air!
A Burnham fire engine was sent to the new Pier Street store at 1.05pm after its alarms were activated.
But fire spokesman Paul Slavin told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “Heat from an oven in the store’s bakery department set off the alarms.”
“Fortunately, there was no fire and none of the store’s staff or customers were evacuated.”
