Fire crews and police rushed to a serious bungalow fire on the outskirts of Burnham-On-Sea on Thursday morning (June 15th).
Brent Road was completely closed to traffic, as pictured above, after flames damaged a property next to the busy commuter route.
A police spokeswoman told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We were called at 5.37am by the fire brigade after a bungalow was reported to be on fire. The road was closed for the fire and police crews and a search of the premises is continuing.”
She added that the property had been “badly damaged” in the blaze.
Police signs re-directing traffic away from the scene were placed a mile away at Berrow Triangle, as pictured.
Later in the day, police revealed that a body was found in the wreckage.
