Filming is set to get underway this month on a new horror film in the Burnham and Highbridge area.
Scenes for the movie, called ‘From Beyond’, are due to be shot at local spots across the area during the next few weeks, including in and around Highbridge, Bridgwater and the wider Somerset area.
A spokesman told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “This will be a respectful and faithful adaptation of the classic, public domain short story by H.P. Lovecraft.”
“The film seeks to satisfy the pent-up cravings of horror fans for Lovecraft adaptations while stretching the boundaries of the genre with modern, scientific concepts.”
“In the film, a physics researcher tracks down her disturbed mentor to stop an experiment that could rip open a portal to a dimension of unimaginable horrors.”
It will be directed by Simon Wells and Michael Morris and the cast includes Michael McKell (of Essex Boys and Jekyll and Hyde), Frances McNamee (Casualty and the Royal Shakespeare Company: Love’s Labour’s Lost), Kalli Tant (The Responder, Inside No.9), Jacob Anderton (ITV’s ‘Dark Angel’ and Coronation Street) and Chrissie Wunna (MTV, E4, ITV, Netflix, Channel 4, BBC & Amazon Prime).
It is being produced by Monika Gergelova and Malcolm Winter and is an M and M Films Production, the same company that filmed locally-shot films 3 Wishes For Christmas and Christmas At The Holly Day Inn.
