Scores of families flocked to an elf trail on Burnham-On-Sea seafront on Sunday (November 24th) during a unique fundraising event for Burnham’s BARB Search & Rescue.
The event, which was held for the first time, raised a bumper £961 for the local charity, delighting organisers.
The trail started at the BARB hovercraft station on The Esplanade and saw families walking along the seafront to find hidden elves.
The children also got to make reindeer food, create festive keyrings, create Christmas tree crafts, take an Elfie Selfie, complete a letter for Santa and receive a fun gift.
“A big thank you goes to everyone who came along and supported this new event for BARB, which was a great success,” said a spokesman.
“We also thank organiser Tina Hallsworth and her helpers for all their hard work in getting this new event up and running. BARB is a small, indepedent local charity that relies on donations to keep running so these funds are greatly appreciated.”
Local businesses that supported the event included Berrow Gardening & Property Services, Lowe’s Barbershop, Carrie-Anne’s, Crafty comforts, Material Needs, Brit Chips, Rosemary’s, PGC contracting, Black Rock Vets, Burnham-On-Sea.com, Griffin Toilet Hire, plus Coffee, Cake & Curtains.
BARB’s annual Christmas grotto will be the charity’s next event on Saturday December 14th and Sunday December 15th.
