The countdown to the start of Highbridge’s 66th annual Festival Of The Arts in Burnham-On-Sea has begun.
Hundreds of talented youngsters from the ages of three upwards will be competing at The Princess Theatre and Arts Centre from March 7th-16th.
Dance will be featured in the first competition classes, with dozens of entries covering ballet, tap, modern, contemporary, cabaret and Greek to follow.
Speech and Drama will also take centre stage with poetry, prose, choral and speech being performed on stage before singing and instrumental music take over for the final part of the festival.
Maureen Phillips, the festival’s General Secretary told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “It promises to be another superb festival. There has been lots of interest from competitors in the many classes.”
Members of the public are welcome to attend the daily sessions, which start at 10am and approximately 2pm. Refreshments will be available.
The festival originated in Highbridge in 1948 and has been held for many years at The Princess.
