Final preparations are being made for Highbridge’s 65th annual Festival Of The Arts, which is set to be held in Burnham-On-Sea later this month.
Hundreds of talented youngsters from the ages of three upwards will compete at The Princess Theatre and Arts Centre from 29th February to 9th March.
Dance will be featured first, with dozens of entries covering ballet, tap, modern, contemporary, cabaret and Greek.
Speech and Drama then takes centre stage with poetry, prose, choral and speech being performed on the stage. Singing and instrumental music will then take over for the final part of the festival.
Maureen Phillips, the festival’s General Secretary told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “It promises to be another superb festival. This year is very special because it will be our big 65th anniversary year so it’s going to be a special one.”
The public are welcome to attend the daily sessions, which start at 9.30am and approximately 2pm. Refreshments will be available.
The festival originated in Highbridge in 1948 and has been held for many years at The Princess.
