New team of organisers appointed at Highbridge Festival of the Arts

-

Highbridge Festival of the Arts has a new team of organisers following its annual general meeting.

After some nine years in post the festival’s General Secretary, Maureen Phillips, has stepped down. She was warmly thanked for all her hard work and efforts put in to the event over the years.

Maureen has been replaced as General Secretary by John Page.

The festival’s Chair, Denise Berry, also stood down and was replaced by the Vice Chair, Trudi Thatcher. Marilyn Banks has added the duties of Vice Chair to those of Dance Section Secretary. The festival has also lost, for business reasons, its excellent publicity officer, Greg Fear.

The next festival, the 68th, will take place from Thursday 5th March 2015 until Saturday 14th March 2015. Venues will be The Princess in Burnham, Highbridge Community Hall and St Andrew’s Church in Burnham. It is expected that the 2015 Syllabus will be available around mid-October with a closing date for entries of Friday 9th January, 2015.

“Once again, we would like to express our gratitude to the venues, our sponsors, our advertisers, our helpers and, of course, those wonderful people who enter the various disciplines,” said John Page.
