A group of Burnham-On-Sea fundraisers pulled on the latest fashions and paraded in front of almost 100 people during a charity fashion show in the town on Wednesday evening (May 19th).
The ‘Handbags and Gladrags Show’, held at Burnham’s BASC Ground, raised over £500 for Breakthrough Breast Cancer and featured clothing from Burnham’s New Look, Eve and DP Menswear stores, while hairdressing and make-up was provided by N-Hance.
There was hardly a dry eye in the room when organiser Christine Piper emotionally told the audience how one local 35-year-old lady, Julie Selway, had died last month after a battle with breast cancer. Members of her family were present at the event, giving their support to the charity.
Christine told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “It was a very successful evening and we’re very grateful for the support of many local people and businesses this evening.”
