A dozen traders will be selling a wide range of locally-grown food when Burnham-On-Sea’s monthly farmers market returns in the town centre on Friday (March 28th).
Burnham Farmers Market will be held in the High Street from 9am-1pm with stalls offering local traditional breed pork, game, Axbridge beef, vegetables, cakes, cheese, pies, bakery items and milk.
Market co-ordinator Louise Hall said: “After a couple of challenging Burnham markets in the wind and rain, we are looking forward to spring sunshine and gentle breezes on Friday!”
“All of the regular stalls are coming, so we have beef from Moorland Farm, Ellises pork, Wookey Farm goat and GM Country Sports game plus our usual enviable array of cheeses, vegetables, bread and cakes.”
“The return of In Clover, our stunning plant stall, will be our good weather omen and chivvy us along to be thinking of gardening! Clare is a member of the Hardy Plant Society and has a whole range of unusual native perennials plus expert planting advice.”
“The Humble Pie Company enjoyed their February launch and it would appear that Burnham loved their pies, so don’t be late on Friday if you want to choose from their full range of flavours.”
“We are also excited to launch a regular community stall to enable Burnham’s local organisations to showcase their activities, whether it’s local theatre, a gardening club or charitable group. There’s an amazing range going on in the town and we hope the monthly market will be the ideal venue for groups to promote their events.”
