Over a dozen traders will be selling a wide range of locally-grown summer fruit when Burnham-On-Sea’s monthly farmers market returns to the town on Friday (July 25th).
The market will be held in the High Street from 9am-1pm with stalls offering local produce including fruit plus local meat, vegetables, cakes, cheese, pies, bakery items and milk.
Market co-ordinator Louise Hall said: “We’re celebrating Somerset’s fruit harvest this Friday with strawberries from Besley Fruits and cherries from Whitehouse Farm.”
“The local cherry season is very short, so do make the most of this annual opportunity. Plus we also have all kinds of fresh seasonal produce so come and enjoy the seasonal glut!”
“Some of you will be wanting to buy fruit for preserving but if this is too much like hard work, check out the range of preserves from the Country Markets stall who are getting well established at Burnham.”
“Ellises Farm unfortunately are unable to come this month but we are sending a wonderful guest replacement, Somerset Charcuterie, so you won’t be missing out on air dried hams, salamis and chorizos!”
Friday’s stalls will include:
- Besley’s Fruits – Cheddar strawberries
- Country Markets – jams, jellies, curds and chutneys
- Ellises Farm – fresh pork as well as cured hams, salami and chorizo
- G M Country Sports – Mendip venison and other game in season
