Burnham-On-Sea’s farmers market returns to the town’s High Street today (Friday, May 29th) with a wide line-up of locally produced food, including Cheddar strawberries.
Over a dozen stalls will be set-up selling local produce including fruit, local meat, vegetables, cakes, cheese, pies, bakery items and milk from 9am-1pm.
Market co-ordinator Louise Hall told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We are delighted that strawberries are ripening in abundance in Cheddar, and that Cliff Besley will be bringing some over on Friday.”
“Meanwhile, A-Lot-A-Choc are ready to launch their new ‘Frappa Choc’ range on Friday which are chocolate iced smoothies – a tasty twist on the traditional choc ice.”
“We are also launching our new farmers’ market jute shopping bags at Burnham this Friday, so no matter how much shopping you do we’ll have a strong bag to help you carry it home safely. They’re still only £3 each or two for £5 – so cheap enough to give out as a sustainable gift to your friends and family.”
The community information stall at the market will feature the work of foster carers in Burnham, of which there are a shortage.
