An outdoor market selling fresh farm produce WILL be held on Burnham-On-Sea’s High Street after all.
Town Centre Manager Anne-Marie Spalding told Burnham-On-Sea.com on Thursday (May 18th) that a new deal has been struck with several of the stallholders to ensure the market goes ahead over the summer months.
“I have persuaded some of the stalls to come into the town centre,” she said.
It comes after Burnham-On-Sea.com reported earlier this month that the town’s official Farmers Markets would be moving to Garden World at Brent Knoll.
Mrs Spalding said this week: “Markets will be held on the last Friday of the month in June, July and August on the High Street, with a road closure between Adam Street and Cross Street.”
“I hope that this will encourage more to want to take part.”
The news is being welcomed by many High Street traders, who believe a market will bring extra shoppers into town.
