A community-spirited Burnham-On-Sea youngster has donated her hair to a charity that provides wigs to children who have lost their hair after chemotherapy.
Faith Williams, 10, who has been battling Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (M.E.), wanted to help other children so has had her locks cut off to help the Little Princess Trust.
Mum Ellie told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “Simple tasks like washing her hair and brushing it can be exhausting for Faith and also very painful, so she decided she wanted to ‘cut it all off’.”
“Faith has always been a very thoughtful child and didn’t want her hair to go to waste. She thought it would be a nice gift to give a child in need of hair.”
“Faith came across The Little Princess Trust through looking at a hair donation website and decided that not only did she want to donate her hair but she also wanted to raise money to help a child who had lost their hair due to Cancer get a wig funded for them.”
Faith had her hair cut off this week and all 16 inches has been donated to The Little Princess Trust along with donations.
Ellie adds: “We hope that we can meet Faith’s goal and give them the funds it cost to make a wig. It cost the charity £550 to provide a real hair wig free of charge to a child.”
So far, Faith’s raised £110 of that goal but hopes to raise more through sharing her story. Click here for her fundraising page.
There’s also a donation box in the office of Hugh Sexeys Middle School in Blackford.
