Burnham-On-Sea events organisers plan together to avoid clashes

-

Over 20 events organisers in the Burnham-On-Sea area met together on Thursday night (January 30th) to try and avoid diary clashes this year.

Ian Jefferies, manager at BIARS (Burnham Information and Rescue Support), oversaw the meeting of events organisers from across Burnham and Highbridge at the Bay Centre.

Among the groups represented were BIARS, Burnham Chamber of Trade, Burnham Lions, Burnham Food & Drink Festival, Burnham Dreamscheme, Folkfest, Burnham Flower Club, Somerset Farmers Markets, The Princess, Friends of The Princess, Inner Wheel, St Margaret’s Somerset Hospice, Asda, Sedgemoor Ramblers, BEES, Town Team, Marine Cove, Beach medieval tournament, The Bay Centre, BARB, RNLI, Coastguard and Burnham-On-Sea.com.

“The idea behind this meeting was to collate all events for mass promotion and to avoid clashes where possible,” said Ian. “It was a successful evening – we had a good turnout and there’s a great programme of events being lined up for 2014. We intend to hold further meetings in the future and keep everyone’s contact details on file so that we can exchange information, share volunteers and promote each other’s events.”

All the events will be listed on Burnham-On-Sea.com’s online calendar here, which is run in conjunction with BIARS.
