Police have launched an investigation after a car collided into the roof support of a Burnham-On-Sea petrol station and then allegedly sped off.
CCTV footage of the incident on the forecourt of the Esso petrol station in Love Lane is being used by officers to trace the motorist.
It comes after the car reversed out of the parking area next to the shop, hitting the pillar.
This left the structure leaning at a precarious angle, as pictured here.
The area around the entrance to the petrol station’s shop has been coned off as a precaution after an initial safety assessment declared the roof safe. Police have confirmed to Burnham-On-Sea.com that an investigation into the incident is ongoing.
