Burnham and Highbridge MP praises Enterprise Centre’s growth

-

Highbridge Enterprise Centre’s achievements in helping to drive new enterprise and business growth have been commended this week by the town’s MP.

During a day to celebrate economic development in Somerset, MP James Heappey visited the centre to see the progress there so far.

He told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “This is a fantastic centre with outstanding, flexible facilities which allow small businesses to grow at their own rate with minimal financial risk.”

“The broadband has certainly made a huge difference to businesses in the area, with upload and download speeds of 50mb.”

“I am delighted to see this centre thriving, having a positive impact on Somerset’s economy, and continuing to deliver valuable training and workshops.”

The centre opened in March this year as the fifth business hub from Somerset County Council, managed by Somerset Enterprise Centres.

It aims to champion high-growth enterprises and investment, inspiring new business to put down their roots and growing businesses to start their next chapter in the Burnham-On-Sea area.

Cllr David Hall, Somerset County Council’s Cabinet Member for Business and Inward Investment, said: “The Enterprise Centre demonstrates our burning ambition for Somerset – of continued growth, innovation and investment in our county, and bringing like-minded business brains together to seize opportunities. We know Somerset has a great deal to offer to enterprise, and the Highbridge Centre is an important component of that offer.”

Jakki MacPhail, Highbridge Enterprise Centre Manager, added: “We have a great vibe in the Centre, with such diverse companies, from digital marketing, to an online school of scratch.”

“Somerset Enterprise Centres are passionate about helping to empower people, not only to run a business, but be successful. We offer terms that reduce their exposure to financial risk, and a package of free business support, workshops and networking. A coffee here often turns into a piece of business for someone!”

On Tuesday 8th December the Centre is giving a Marketing Workshop for small and start-up businesses between 10am and 4.30pm. For more information about training and workshops available at the Highbridge Enterprise Centre contact Jakki MacPhail on Jacqueline.MacPail@tedcltd.com or phone 01278 550250.
