Mayor drops in at Burnham-On-Sea pensioner’s 90th birthday

-

Burnham-On-Sea’s Mayor was the surprise visitor at a pensioner’s 90th birthday celebrations at the weekend.

Elizabeth Johnson of Berrow Road is a former Chairman of Wells Conservative Association and Chairman of the ladies section of the Burnham branch of the Conservative Association.

She was also a leading light in Burnham for the charity Macmillan Nurses, having raised many thousands of pounds over two decades.

Burnham and Highbridge Mayor Michael Clarke, who is pictured presenting a bouquet of flowers to Elizabeth, told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “Both organisations are very appreciative of all Elizabeth’s hard work over the years and everyone wishes her a very happy 90th birthday.”

Elizabeth said: “It was a lovely surprise that the Mayor dropped in on my special day and I thank all those who visited during the morning.”
