A by-election will be held in part of Burnham and Highbridge next month to fill a vacant district council seat following a resignation this week.
Liberal Democrat Joe Leach is standing down due to work commitments, as first reported by Burnham-On-Sea.com here.
The by-election in the Highbridge and Burnham Marine ward will be held on Thursday, January 24th.
Nominations for the vacant seat are being accepted by Sedgemoor District Council until the closing date of mid-day on Thursday 27th December.
Burnham-On-Sea.com understands that town councillor Helen Groves has already been selected to run for the Lib Dems.
The Conservatives and Labour will also be fielding candidates but have not formally selected them yet.
