A former student of Highbridge’s King Alfred School Academy who is now a successful West End actor is walking 160 miles across the country this week to help a charity that supports homeless people.
Edward James is currently on a walk from London to Burnham-On-Sea to raise money for Shelter, the leading homeless charity.
He has raised over £1,600 so far after realising how lucky he is to have two places to call home after moving to London to pursue his love of the stage.
Edward’s walk is scheduled to take 8 or 9 days to complete and he’s expected to arrive in Burnham this Tuesday, 24th September.
Edward said: “The reason why I wanted to do this was since moving from the countryside into London, I walk past homeless people all the time.”
“It’s a massive problem and it’s changing. You don’t just see single men being homeless but also families and young women.”

Edward’s career has so far has seen him work across the world and he is ambitious to be in a Hollywood film that he’d to one day like watch at Burnham’s Ritz Cinema.
