Campaigners will be able to have their say about plans to build a new wind farm near Burnham-On-Sea when a week-long public inquiry into the scheme takes place later this month.
Energy firm Ecotricity is seeking to reverse Sedgemoor District Council’s decision to reject its proposals to build four 120m tall wind turbines at Black Ditch in West Huntspill, pictured above.
As first reported here, the public inquiry will be held in Burnham’s Princess Theatre between February 19th-22nd and on 7th March at Bridgwater Town Hall.
Ecotricity has submitted an appeal to the Planning Inspectorate in a bid to over-rule last April’s decision by district councillors due to landscape and biodiversity concerns.
Members of the public will be able to attend and, at the Inspector’s discretion, express their views. Any members of the public who wishes to attend and has a disability should contact Sedgemoor District council to confirm that suitable provisions are in place.
Protesters opposed to the plans say they are disappointed that Ecotricity has submitted the appeal and will be fighting the bid.
