A group of Highbridge students has competed in a regional science and engineering challenge to design an eco-classroom.
Six students from King Alfred School’s Year 9 visited Fry’s Conference Centre in Keynsham to take part in the contest.
“This year’s challenge was to design an eco-classroom and by working together over several weeks, the team produced a model of their classroom, a sales pitch and a working report of their experience,” a school spokesman told Burnham-On-Sea.com.
“Although they didn’t win, their work was extremely impressive and their presentation skills were fantastic. The competition from 15 other schools was to a very high standard.”
As part of their project the team worked closely with Highbridge industrial company Manuflex and enjoyed working with their mentor Ray Stewart.
