Hot weather delivers a cracking Easter for Burnham-On-Sea traders

-

Businesses in Burnham-On-Sea have enjoyed one of their busiest Easters for many years after a weekend of sizzling weather.

Large crowds of visitors flocked to the town, boosting trade at holiday parks and tourist attractions over the four day period between Good Friday and Bank Holiday Monday.

Steve Atkinson, Manager of Burnham’s Home Farm Holiday Park, told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We’ve had a fantastic weekend – the weather has helped us no end.”

“In addition to many holidaymakers coming to our site, the sales of caravans over the weekend have far exceeded our expectations.”

“Due to the continuing good weather and the Royal wedding, many visitors are also extending their breaks into next weekend.”

And Burnham Pavilion’s Managing Director, Louise Parkin, told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “The beautiful weather and water skiing championships have been fantastic for Burnham this weekend. Large crowds of visitors have been visiting the seafront – we’ve seen our best April on record for catering sales.”

Large crowds were drawn to Burnham on Saturday and Sunday to watch the first round of the British water skiing championships, as reported here, while the temperatures in Burnham and the south west were hotter than many overseas tourist destinations.
