Over 100 take part in traditional Easter race to top of Brent Knoll

-

Dozens of youngsters took part in the annual Easter run to the top of Brent Knoll on Saturday afternoon (March 27th).

The race is held from outside the village’s primary school and this year’s event saw almost 100 children and parents making their way to the summit and back.

Each youngster collects a numbered lolly stick at the top of the Knoll and then returns to the school where they can claim an Easter egg.

This year’s event was won by Morgan Rose, pictured right, with Beck Bishop in second and Owen Rose in third.

Becky Boston, Chairman of the school’s PTA, told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “The race was very well supported again this year and we thank everyone who helped. We couldn’t have wished for better weather.”

The event coincided with the school’s Easter fayre, when a number of stalls and attractions were set up in the playground. There was also a visit by Burnham-On-Sea’s Light of Elizabeth rescue hovercraft.
