Nearly 200 people filled the village hall to look at a wide range of exhibits – from roses to hanging baskets and vegetables to crafts.
“The Show Committee would like to thank all supporters, sponsors, raffle prizes and most of all those who helped ‘set up’ and ‘take down’ the show and clean up afterwards. A grand day was had by all,” Show Secretary Kay Bennett told Burnham-On-Sea.com.
The winners of the cups and trophies included: The Margaret Wall Perpetual Rose Bowl – Roses = Sara Puddy; P.M. Wall Ltd – best single cacti = Christine Coates; The Andy West Memorial Perpetual Cup for Dahlias = Brian Newton; The HJG Hobbs Memorial Perpetual Cup – Hanging basket = Margaret Wall; The Brian Newton Perpetual Cup – most points in flowers = Sara Puddy and The Nigel Dorothy Perpetual Cup – best exhibit in the onion classes = John Inder.
The J.D.Pope & Sons Perpetual Cup for most points in vegetable classes went to John Inder; B & B Marquee Perpetual Cup – Novelty Class = Martin Wall; “Mr Potato” award = highest potatoes grown in a bag (8lbs 10ozs!) = Jim Bennett; Crown Stores Perpetual Cup – most points in the fruit classes = Veronica Derham; The Withy Road Perpetual Cup – most points in the domestic classes = Margaret Wall.
The Jenny Salway Perpetual Cup for best exhibit in the domestic class was won by Margaret Wall. The Mildred Pudy Memorial Perpetual Cup – most points in the craft class = Theresa Bromham. The MA & FG Puddy Memorial Perpetual Cup – ‘Top Tray’ and Thompson and Morgan; Certificate and vouchers = John Inder; The Abbott & Frost Perpetual Cup – ‘Top Vase’ and Thompson and Morgan certificate and vouchers = won jointly by Sara Puddy and Kay Bennett.

Show Perpetual ‘petite’ Rose Bowl – class 81 = Myra Cox; The Queenie Cox Memorial Perpetual Shield – most points in floral art = Andrea Moore.
