Officers were called to the village by on-site security staff at 11pm on Friday amid reports of fighting and disorder.
“Police arrived on scene to find a large number of people holding two men apart who appeared to have been involved in a fight,” Inspector Roger Tolley told Burnham-On-Sea.com.
“Four assaults were reported and four arrests were made for public order offences. Criminal damage to a taxi was also reported.”
He said two of the people arrested have been charged to court and one has been issued with a fixed penalty notice. A further person has received a police caution.
Inspector Tolley added that a large amount of alcohol had been seized.
“We took away 80 cans of beer and cider, plus 35 bottles with varying contents.”
He added: “It was a very disappointing end to an otherwise successful and peaceful event. Investigations into the incident are ongoing.”
Burnham-On-Sea.com reported here how the event had started peacefully with over 400 people enjoying a traditional meal and entertainment.
