A 19 year-old man who died in a horror accident near Burnham-On-Sea early on Saturday (September 18th) has been named.
Billy Davis died when his BMW 328 burst into flames after crashing into a telegraph pole and leaving the A370 Bridgwater Road in East Brent.
Burnham-On-Sea.com first reported on Saturday how two teenage passengers who were also in the vehicle managed to scramble free and were taken to hospital.
A teenage girl is recovering in Frenchay Hospital with a fractured neck and broken leg.
A police investigation is underway to try and establish what happened after the early morning accident at 2am.
Fire crews were at the scene for over five hours and were still at the scene at day break, as pictured here.
Police appealed for witnesses to the accident to come forward. “Anyone who witnessed the collision or saw the vehicle shortly beforehand is asked to contact the Police Collision Investigation Unit on 0845 456 7000,” police spokesman Martin Dunscombe told Burnham-On-Sea.com.
