A group of more than 20 fundraisers walked between Bridgwater and Burnham-On-Sea on Saturday (September 8th) in memory of Dylan Cecil, the youngster who died after falling into the sea from the town’s jetty.
The walkers set off from the centre of Bridgwater and arrived at Burnham jetty almost four hours later, raising around £1,000 for the RNLI, which was one of several charities involved in the four day search operation for young Dylan.
The group of people from Burnham and Highbridge, Bridgwater and Taunton also released scores of balloons from next to the jetty where Dylan went missing, as pictured here.
One of the organisers, Cindy Maxfield, told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “This terrible tragedy really touched everyone and we wanted to do something to remember Dylan and raise funds for those who searched for him. Thanks go to everyone that supported us.”
