Visiting Dutch band welcomed to Burnham-On-Sea by Mayor

-

Burnham-On-Sea’s Mayor and Mayoress have given an official welcome to a Dutch carnival band, Spuug-Zat, who are visiting the town this week.

Michael and Maria Clarke have greeted the visitors from the Dutch town of Zaltbommel, who regularly visit during Burnham’s carnival week.

“The group’s Prince of Carnival and other members of the band supporters presented gifts to the Mayor and Mayoress from the Mayor of Zaltbommel, as well as gifts from the Carnival organisers,” town clerk Eileen Shaw told Burnham-On-Sea.com.

“In return, Burnham’s Mayor presented the group with an engraved plaque to present to the Mayor of Zaltbommel.”
