A large quantity of what are believed to be class A drugs – Heroin and Crack Cocaine – have been seized along with thousands of pounds of cash in drugs raids in the Highbridge area.
Police officers swooped on two addresses on Thursday morning (February 28th) following community-led intelligence.
A spokesman told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “Two drugs warrants were executed simultaneously early on Thursday morning at two addresses in the Highbridge area by the local Sedgemoor beat team.”
“A large quantity of what is believed to be class A drugs, Heroin and Crack cocaine have been recovered along with thousands of pounds of cash, power tools, alcohol and pepper spray.”
“At this time there are two people – a male and a female – under investigation.”
Sgt Ryan Edwards told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “This is a fantastic result for the local Police team working with the local community resulting in disrupting the drug lines and distribution in our town.”
“As always we are very keen to gather any information on this sort of crime that affects us all, either be it through various acquisitive crime, such as shoplifting, burglary or similar to fund the addiction, that these substances bring.”
