Police in Highbridge drugs raid

-

Police stormed into a property in Highbridge this morning (Tuesday, November 24th) when they executed a drugs warrant.

Officers were called to Bishop’s Place in Church Street, as pictured here, as part of their ongoing crackdown against drug trading in the town.

A small quantity of tablets which are believed to be class C drugs were seized as well as two pedal cycles, as pictured above.

A 31-year-old female was arrested and later released on police bail, allowing the drugs seized to be analysed and for enquiries to be made relating to stolen pedal cycles.

Police spokesman PC Ryan Dinham told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We are committed to improving the quality of life for residents in Highbridge and drug dealing is the top PACT priority for the community.”

“This raid was carried out as a result of community led intelligence. We are particularly looking at dealers who take in stolen property and there had been thefts of pedal cycles from Burnham and Highbridge recently. We will be seizing cycles that are suspected of being stolen.”

He added: “We would advise all cycle owners to mark their bikes and keep a record of serial numbers with a photograph of their bikes.”
