A man has been arrested on suspicion of ‘drink riding’ after being pursued by police officers through the centre of Burnham-On-Sea on a motorbike on Wednesday evening (September 2nd).
Officers were called to the town centre just before 5pm after the 38-year-old local man was reported by shoppers to be riding at high speed along the town’s streets and pavements, narrowly missing several pedestrians.
Police spokesman Steve Game told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “There was a pursuit in and around The Esplanade, Hudson Street and Cross Street involving a Moto Guzzi motorcycle.”
“We arrested the 38-year-old rider on suspicion of drink riding offences and he taken into custody at Bridgwater Police Station.”
