The platform at Highbridge railway station has been given a dash of colour this week by artistic youngsters from the town’s Dreamscheme.
Children from Highbridge Dreamscheme, helped by members of Highbridge In Bloom, have refreshed the showcases along the platforms to display a number of posters especially painted by the children.
The showcases were supplied and fitted by Severnside Community Rail Partnership especially for the Highbridge Dreamscheme to help brighten up the station.
The new paintings – which depict autumn and winter scenes – were painted by the children during their recent holiday.
Highbridge in Bloom received a discretionary Chairman’s Award in the South West Bloom Awards last year for Highbridge Station.
Work took place at the station under the supervision of Heather Cullimore, a member of Severnside Community Rail Partnership, and discussions with Heather will once again commence in March to consider whether further enhancements can be made.
Highbridge Dreamscheme’s Trish Hart told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “All the children who attended the station enjoyed seeing the old pictures coming out and the new pictures going in, even though it was a bit cold and blustery.”
Pictured from Highbridge in Bloom are Joyce Curtis (Chairman), Pam Lyes (Secretary), Phil Lyes (Treasurer) and Shirley Adams (member).
