Burnham-On-Sea’s newly-formed Dreamscheme is to hold a Family Fun Day in the town today (Friday, April 15th).
Leader John Alexander says the event, on St Andrew’s School playing field, promises to be fun-packed for families enjoying the Easter holidays.
John told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “It will be a super day and will run from 11am until 4pm and will be open to all.”
“We have a huge inflatable slide, a circus skills demonstration, sports activities, face painting, a photography stall, barbecue, resfreshments and more.”
He explained that the aims of the event are to raise the profile of Dreamscheme in Burnham and also to encourage more people – both children and adult volunteers – to join.
For more details about how to join the scheme, see the group’s official web page on Burnham-On-Sea.com here.
The new group was launched by Burnham’s MP, Tessa Munt, as pictured above. Dreamscheme involves young people aged 8-16 taking part in community work in return for points that can be used towards day trips and other activities.
