Members of Burnham-On-Sea Dreamscheme celebrated the group’s first anniversary on Wednesday (February 15th) with a busy day of fun activities.
The group’s 100 members gathered for a birthday party and its annual general meeting at the town’s BAY Centre in Cassis Close, where Burnham Lions generously handed over a £500 cheque to help the group’s work.
“It’s been a busy first year during which time we’ve quickly grown from 46 members last February to over 100 registered members now,” leader John Alexander told Burnham-On-Sea.com.
“We have great plans for 2012, including a soon-to-be-announced community garden and a production of ‘Pinafore Pirates’, which will be a junior version of the Pirates Of Penzance, plus a massive fun day at Easter.”
On Wednesday, the group also held its annual general meeting where certificates were awarded to the best volunteers and the group looked back at a busy year.
The group will be enjoying a bowling session today (Thursday) as a thank you for their help over the past year.
