Burnham-On-Sea’s Princess Theatre Company will perform a carnival-themed drama this evening (Friday, October 7) in the town’s Princess Theatre.
Carnival is an original play by Kim Cook and is the latest production from PTC with a cast of local people giving their support.
The play is set in a barn and centres around the Mudlarkers Carnival Club, who are preparing for the Somerset carnival season.
Follow the Mudlarkers while they strive to build the best cart ever, while leaping from one crisis to another.
“It’s a bit of fun,” Lewis Coleman, one of the performers, told Burnham-On-Sea.com. “It’s about a family who love each other, but encounter difficulties on the journey to carnival.”
Kim added: “It’s been a great process from start to finish. We’ve had a brilliant time rehearsing the play and hopefully the fun the guys are having on stage will be shared by the audience.”
The show contains mild swearing and sexual references. The show takes place at 7pm and tickets cost £6, or £4 for concessions. Tickets are available at the theatre website or on the door. £1 from every ticket will go to Highbridge and Burnham Carnival Committee.
