More than five million television viewers watched BBC1’s ‘Dracula’ on Thursday night (December 28th) in which Brean Down was featured.
We reported in August how Brean beach had been transformed into a film set to record scenes for the film.
Thursday’s screening aired on BBC1 at 9pm and was seen by 5.1 million people, a 22% share of the overall audience, making it the day’s most-watched programme in the UK.
The film, starring Marc Warren as the bloodsucking count, featured scenes that were filmed on top of Brean Down, as well as on the beach, as pictured above.
It is not the first time that Brean has been used for filming big movies. In June, the area was also used for filming of ‘The Golden Age’ starring Cate Blanchett, which is to be released during 2007.
