Two dog owners in Burnham-On-Sea and Highbridge have picked up fines after letting their animals foul streets in the two towns.
Sedgemoor District Council has successfully prosecuted two residents for failing to pick up excrement left by their pets.
Burnham resident Bob Johnstone has been fined £245 for failing to clean up after one of his dogs fouled the pavement in Seaview Road.
And Highbridge resident Ann Keating has been fined £295 for failing to clean up after two of her dogs fouled a pavement on the Popular Estate.
“Mrs Keating was caught after additional patrols were initiated in the area in response to complaints from the public regarding dog fouling,” council spokeswoman Claire Faun told Burnham-On-Sea.com.
“Sedgemoor District Council has a zero tolerance of dog fouling and any persons caught failing to remove their dog faeces from a public place will be challenged, resulting in a fine or prosecution.”
