The driver of this car was lucky to escape injury after plunging into a water-filled ditch on New Year’s Day.
Police were called to Harp Road after a passer-by spotted the vehicle in a rhyne, surrounded by water.
The vehicle had slid off the road following a period of heavy rain and the driver inside had managed to scramble free.
A police spokesman told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We were called out at 8.50pm by a member of the public to a car in a ditch in Harp Road. The driver was located and was found to be unharmed.”
Harp Road – which runs from the Fox and Goose pub at Brent Knoll through to the village of Mark – has seen several similar accidents over the years.
