Dismay over litter left on Berrow beach after first weekend of lockdown easing

-

Residents in  Berrow and Brean have reacted with dismay to litter left along the beach on the first weekend since the lockdown was eased.

As reported here, the Burnham area was busy with visitors although there was not a huge influx of people.

Donna Barrett who posted these photos on social media, said: “the bins along the beach are full and starting to overflow.”

She added that some of the waste was dog waste in bags, adding: “Seagulls are ripping the bags, I tried clearing what I can but it’s just too much. I spoke to the council and apparently the cleaning vehicle is out of action.”

A member of The Friends of Berrow Beach told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “This definitely needs some publicity, especially with more people expected onto the beach with the easing of the lockdown.”
