Highbridge drop-in sessions offer technology help to local residents

-

Help is at hand for Burnham-On-Sea and Highbridge residents struggling with technology.

Sedgemoor Digital Link is running free, weekly help sessions every Wednesday from 1pm-3pm at Highbridge Children’s Centre in Coronation Road.

“All sessions offer a safe, supported and friendly environment to access the web for tasks such as job searching, applying and searching for training and apprenticeship opportunities,” said a spokeswoman.

“There is also free printing, advice on applying for Job Seekers Allowance online, online banking, as well as help with emails and how to safely navigate social media.”

Sedgemoor’s Employment and Skills Outreach Worker, Laura Fowler, added: “As more and more services become ‘digital’, a basic knowledge of IT and using the Web is really important.”

The organisers are also looking for volunteers to support the Digital Link sessions. If you have good IT Skills and are able to offer a couple of hours help a week, contact them on 01278 664180.
