-

Deputy Leader of the Liberal Democrats visited Burnham-On-Sea on Wednesday (April 17th) as the local election campaign heated up.
Jo Swinson visited Burnham with former MP Tessa Munt to lend her support to the party’s District and Town Council candidates.
Tessa said: “It was brilliant to have Jo Swinson out and about with us in Burnham and Highbridge, supporting our many District and Town Council candidates.”

“We stopped to pick up lunch at Gardiner-Whites in the High Street, and enjoyed a really sunny reception on the doorsteps – which matched the weather.”
“We visited In Charley’s Memory, the young people’s mental health charity which does such a vital work in schools, colleges, businesses and out in the community. Jo spent an hour talking to members of Charley’s family, Counsellors, Ambassadors and the amazing team who back the incredible work ICM does locally.”
“Jo also met Mike Lowe, a local barber and volunteer with BARB, who outlined the outstanding work BARB has completed over the years and Jo promised to return and visit BARB next time she’s in the area.”
Jo has been reported in the national press as being someone who is a frontrunner for Lib Dem leadership in the near future.
