Staff from a Burnham-On-Sea dental practice pulled on their walking boots on Thursday (May 17th) to take part in a fundraising event for charity.
The group, from College Street Dental Practice, walked seven miles from Holford to Crowcombe to raise money for two charities.
One of the team, Colin Taylor, told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We have chosen two very worthy charities for our sponsored walk – Childrens Hospice South West and Smile Train, which helps children in poor countries born with facial disfigurement.”
“We normally do a team building day every year so that staff can have a day socialising and have fun together while building a team ethos, and this year we have decided to try combining that with charity fundraising.”
The event coincides with National Smile Month, taking place from May 20th, when stickers, balloons and information leaflets will be given out. “We are keen to encourage anybody to come in for free Mouth Cancer Checks, which take about 10 minutes.” More details here.
