A vandalised defibrillator is back in place at Highbridge’s Apex Park this week, thanks to the help of two local companies.
Burnham-On-Sea.com first reported last week that vandals had damaged the life-saving kit at the park in Marine Drive, forcing it to be removed.
Shocked organiser Reg Huxtable approached two Highbridge companies – Cases and Quick Sign – to see if they could repair the kit.
“We wanted to get the defibrillator repaired as soon as possible, given how potentially critical it is for saving lives,” he told Burnham-On-Sea.com.
“Both companies were very helpful and keen to help us. They have repaired the box completely free of charge, which is such a kind gesture.”
He added: “We are very grateful to them for being so community-spirited, giving us their time for free. They will be both publicly thanked before Saturday’s Parkrun at Apex.”
He added that the defibrillator is now back in situ on the wall of the Apex Park office, ready to be used in the event of any medical emergency.
