Injured deer being cared for by carers at Secret World Wildlife Rescue

-

Carers at a wildlife rescue centre near Burnham-On-Sea are looking after a deer that has been injured in a road accident.

The team at Secret World in East Huntspill are caring for the Roe Deer, which is believed to have been struck by a car.

“It was found in Sandford, emaciated and dragging its back legs and missing an antler. It may have been the victim of a road accident as he also has a head injury that has healed,” said a spokeswoman.

“Our vet nurse, Michelle, has done a terrific job of draining the rather large abscess on his left front leg and she will be doing further blood tests to rule out liver or kidney damage.”
