A new fundraising campaign has been launched in a bid to find missing Burnham-On-Sea man Dean Tate.
The 40-year-old was last seen at the TA8s bar in Pier Street in Burnham-On-Sea at around 2.30am on Saturday February 24th after earlier visiting the nearby Somerset and Dorset pub.
Police, fire, Coastguard, BARB and RNLI crews have been involved in a major search to find him, with no sightings. Residents in Burnham-On-Sea and Highbridge have also searched for Mr Tate without success.
Now, members of the ‘Find Dean Tate’ community group have begun a fundraising campaign. Accessed here, it aims to raise £1,000 as a reward that will be given to a person or people that provide concrete evidence as to what has happened to Dean.
The group’s spokesperson says: “On Friday 23rd February Dean Tate left his house for a few drinks and never returned. His fiance, six sons, stepdaughter and family are still waiting for news of his whereabouts. CCTV, witness statements and endless hours of searching have unfortunately not turned up any results.”
“As a community we have rallied round the family and aided in searches in anyway we can, from putting up posters to trekking round the South West and spreading Dean’s story.”

“Dean was last sighted near the Lighthouse Pub near Haven around 2.30am on Saturday 24th February. Around this time pubs close in the local area.”
“We are urging anyone who may have seen Dean past this point to come forward – so far we have had nothing. Hoaxes upon hoaxes, but nothing concrete to give the family some answers to his whereabouts.”
“So we are raising funds for a reward. This money will only be given to a person or people that provide concrete evidence as to what has happened to Dean Tate.”
“Any additional money will be split between various organisations who have assisted in the search for Dean.”
The money will be “an incentive for legitimate information” leading to finding Dean. The fundraising page can be accessed here.
