A new contemporary dance company is being set up in Burnham-On-Sea this week and auditions are being held for new recruits.
DanceFit Studio in Love Lane is inviting dancers aged 16 and over to join the auditions this Monday (November 1st).
Professional contemporary dancer Emma Duffill will hold the event at the DanceFit studios on the Westmans Trading Estate in Love Lane at 5.30pm.
“The audition will be run as an hour long contemporary class, involving a physical warm up, learning a phrase of movement and then some improvisational work,” DanceFit’s Victoria Roberts told Burnham-On-Sea.com.
“The company will work to choreograph and perform a professional style repertoire. Contemporary dance is a style that is not easily defined, it works with the body’s natural alignment and very often uses a fusion of dance techniques and styles.”
“It is an extremely versatile form of dance and can use virtually any style of music.”
She added that the new company will be a fantastic opportunity for anyone studying dance as an A Level or BTEC, or would like to become a professional dancer, to broaden their knowledge of dance and gain some invaluable performance and choreographic opportunities.
