A new series of dance and fitness classes for children and adults has launched in Burnham-On-Sea this month.
DanceFit is a new venture run by qualified dance and fitness professional Victoria Roberts.
The firm offers ‘Boogie Babies’ and ‘Boogie Boppers’ classes every Tuesday morning at the Scout Hut besides the BASC ground in Burnham.
Boogie Babies is aimed at children aged 18 months upwards for baby and mum or dad to come, meet new friends and have fun in a 45 minute class of basic song and dance that encourages co-ordination, speech and movement.
Boogie Boppers is the next step up for children aged from 2½ to school age, combining the basic fundamentals of dance, tap and ballet, with songs, stories and props.
In addition to the pre-school classes, DanceFit also offers tap and modern, following the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing syllabus with the opportunity to work your way through the exams offered.
There are also ‘Street Kidz Hip Hop’ classes for children who want to learn the latest funky moves to their favourite tunes and a boys-only class is held on Wednesday evenings.
DanceFit is also teaming up with the BAY Club to hold its first show on Saturday March 27th at The Princess in Burnham.
Victoria told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “I am really excited about the show – it will be a fantastic opportunity for the children to show their parents how hard they have worked and what they have achieved.”
Adult fitness classes are also available for anyone looking for a fun way to get back into shape with ‘Keep Fit’ to help burn calories and ‘Fitness Pilates’ to help tone up and de-stress.
