Burnham cyclists pedal 400 miles to raise £1,500 for town charity

-

A group of local cyclists has pedalled over 400 miles to raise more than £1,500 for a Burnham-On-Sea charity.

The team – Gordon Jones, Tim Scarrott, Scott Woodberry, Dom Hodges, Laura Hodges and Richard Tye and crew member Matthew Axe – took part in the event.

They have successfully cycled 400 miles in four days from Holyhead to Huntspill, near Burnham-On-Sea.

Local cancer charity Petal, which was formed in memory of Burnham resident Christine Woodberry, has received £1,500, who in turn have decided to nominate Men United, a prostate cancer charity.

“The team had to conquer some serious terrain along the way including Snowdon, the Brecon Beacons and the Wye Valley – they have done a superb job,” said a spokesman.
